English Language and Legal Assistance for Citizenship Eligible Immigrants
ESL AND CITIZENSHIP ASSISTANCE
From immigration to integration: with a focus on American civics, the English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship Program assists immigrants who are eligible for US citizenship by providing FREE English language classes and legal assistance to help students complete the Application for Naturalization so they may fully transition into life as an American citizen.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

ESL learner with high-beginner to high-intermediate English level

LPR (Legal Permanent Resident), eligible for U.S. citizenship
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Choice of virtual or in-person classroom setting, small groups, and one-on-one services that cover:

Resources, information and referral

Citizenship preparation classes

Voter registration and voting assistance
-
ESL/citizenship instruction
-
Free legal assistance to complete form N-400
-
Preparation for USCIS Naturalization interview

Cultural assimilation activities
COST
All services are free of charge.
The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of Citizenship
ESL and Citizenship classes are offered two days a week for 10 weeks in convenient online and in-person settings:
Hackensack: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6pm-8pm
Online: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6pm-8pm
