ABOUT BASIC SKILLS AND ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)
Are you a recent high school graduate? Are you preparing to attend a post-secondary school and need to improve your English skills? Our Basic Skills and ESL instructors will help you with all aspects of the English language so you can feel more comfortable communicating, working, and living in the United States.
Our tuition-free Basic Skills and ESL classes concentrate on post-secondary education readiness.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

Residents of Bergen County and neighboring counties
-
Non-native speakers of English
-
Recent high school graduates who are authorized to live, work, or go to school in the U.S.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Our Basic Skills and ESL classes help you fine-tune the English language and American culture, and customs.

Academic English language skills: fine-tune reading, writing, speaking, and listening, including vocabulary, conversation, and pronunciation

Post secondary school and job readiness: Discovering college resources, stress and time management, job search skills, interviewing skills, resume building, etc.

Life skills: banking, shopping, using community resources, etc.
COST
Our classes are tuition free.
The program is funded by the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
SCHEDULE

Classes take place two days a week, for three hours each

Morning and evening sessions are available

Space is limited to 20 students per class
